Solid State Physics

For a three dimensional crystal, we must review the basic solid state vectors. We begin with the lattice vectors.

R_{n} = n_{1} a_{1} + n_{2} a_{2} + n_{3} a_{3}

each of the $a_{i}$ are known as primitive vectors.

We can write the reciprocal lattice as

G_{m} = m_{1} b_{1} + m_{2} b_{2} + m_{3} b_{3}
